Zhongming and Yuhong were both born and raised in China, and they had different experiences of regeneration and calling. Zhongming was born into a Christian family. His great-grandfather and his family convert to the Lord when American missionaries preached in China in the 19th century. He repented and was reborn when he was 30 years old studying in the law school of Glasgow University in Scotland, and received a clear full-time calling in 33 years old. Yuhong was born into an unbelieving family. When she graduated from university, she believed in the Lord in a Chinese house church.
The couple worked as lawyers in China and served in Chinese house churches. After getting married in 2014, Zhongming was called to serve full-time and went to Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. During the seminary, God gave them two healthy and lovely children, Norah and Jonah. After graduating in 2019, he returned to China to serve for two years, and in 2021, he accepted the offer of the assistant pastor of a Chinese PCA Church and came to Northern Virginia. In 2022, he was ordained as a pastor in the Potomac Presbytery.
After serving for three years, they were called to plant a church together. In the autumn of 2024, after receiving the recommendation from the MNA Church Planting Assessment Center, they begin to establish a new PCA Chinese church in the densely populated Chinese area of Fairfax.
